Find Design Roadtrip: Germany: 2012

At the invitation of Marion Digel, Dean of Industrial Design at the Folkwang University of the Arts, we began our two-week Find Design tour of Germany in Essen.

In March, 2013, we spent 9 days in Finland, visiting as many Design related sites as possible. We began and ended in Helsinki, and drove to Jyvaskala, home of the Aalto Mueeum and Archives, with a surprise stop on our return to the relatively new Finnish Industrial Design Archives.

East Greenville, PA: Knoll

Visit: Knoll has been in the process of documenting its archives/historical production for the past year or so, systematically cataloging the classic furniture in its Museum collection and in an off site archive. A consultant, a Knoll veteran, was retained for this purpose....
